In the meanwhile, out there in a huge farmland far from town, an old farmer called Bob Ipkiss went to take his dog for a walk. He looked at a picture while he walked with his dogs, and he remembered his two children, of which one died. His dogs barked, and when he looked upwards instead of looking down at his picture, the Grim Reaper appeared right infront of him. He let his dogs loose, and The Reaper sliced each dog by the neck with his scythe of iron. Bob pleaded for mercy and told The Reaper that he has a family to take care of. The Reaper took out his knife and stabbed Bob twice in the heart.
Meanwhile in the forest lands, after Randall's gang is eliminated completely and The Grim Reaper fails to do his damage, Jeremiah continues walking endlessly in the forest. He eventually reaches a river and he encounters the boy and the girl which he saved, while they were both fishing.
He asks whom he saved, and the boy tells him that his name is Richard Ipkiss, but everyone calls him Richie. The girl says that her name is Maya Cobroth, and that she is his girlfriend.
Jeremiah asks Richie if his father is some sort of a well known farmer. Richie tells him that his father is Bob, and that he was a very good, honest well intentioned man who looked after a family. He then spoke about his brother and told Jeremiah that Leon Ipkiss was a good man who only wanted to protect the farm from criminals. Richie then added that the one who killed Leon was the same one who killed Randall; no other criminal than The Grim Reaper. He then showed a letter that The Reaper sent him once upon a time. The letter revealed that The Reaper is looking for Agent Maxwell Byron, who was a trusted friend of Bob until one day they had a rough argument in which Byron wanted to cheat his superiors for money and because Bob thought it wasn't fair, the two never spoke or met each other ever again.
